This project is about building a physical human-machine interface that enables users to control the actions and movement of a robot in space. We built the BrickBoss, a controller for controlling a robot playing the Jenga game.
The final result is split into two versions. A functional prototype and a 3D rendering of the final design. Because the problem was clearly defined and the solution framework implied, we were able to start designing the solution immediately.
Form factor development
The form factor of the controller is based on an industrial context of use
Navigation pattern
Statistical and market research has shown us that there is a niche in the field of first aid where there is an urgent need for improvement in order to save more lives in the future and fulfil the duty of first aid.
Usability Testing
To validate our previous decisions, we developed a first version of the functional prototype to be tested in a usability test with 4 independent testers.
Controlls
Shape
Once we had our insights, we began to develop the final shape of the case and worked out the details of the controls.
Functional prototype
The complete development of the functional prototype includes prototyping with Arduion and the necessary custom creations to reflect the desired usability of our concept as well as possible.
3D rendering
The final product vision was modelled in Cinema 4D.
